Halifax ups Web Saver Extra rate
Halifax has increased the rate for its Web Saver Extra account to 6.35% gross (6.07% AER). This includes a 0.35% gross bonus until July 18th 2008.
All new and existing Halifax Web Saver Extra customers with balances of between £1 and £100,000 will benefit from this higher rate.
One withdrawal per year - without loss of interest - is permitted. But each subsequent withdrawal will lose 30 days' interest on the amount withdrawn.
Customers can apply for an account in their nearest branch, online or by phone.
Worth pointing out is that Halifax Web Saver Extra balances above £100,000 will receive interest at the same rate as Halifax Web Saver (with cash card option - excluding bonus rate), which is currently 4.25% AER/gross p.a., on the full balance.
